275/60 is massive, about truck tire size almost.

275 would be about the narrowest possible tire you'd want on a 10" wheel; but you'd want something more like 275/40 or /45.

How about all this Back Spacing madness? About how much is to much with 10" rims?

BTW: I'm looking hard at 15x10 wheels myself. How ever the tires that I will go with are measured in hight. So like 27" or 28" is what I'm looking at.

I have 15x10 rims. Backspace will depend on the tire size you choose since the sidewall width will determine how far out the rims will have to stick.

My rims are 5.5" backspace. Originally I used MT ET Street 26-10.5-15 tires with no problems. I then went with MT ET Drag 28-9-15 tires. I now use Hoosier 29-9-15 slicks and could go to 29-10-15 slicks. If I wanted an even wider tire I would have to use less backspace to push the rims out more. All three tire choices I've used keep the tires under the fenders although they're not the widest tires you could squeeze into the fenders.

A 275/60 tire is 28" tall. There are a few third gens that use that tire.

What gear ratio is in your diff. Since the factory tire size is close to 26" going to a 28" will need deeper gears.

Tire size also depends on how you want to drive the car. Daily driver, autocross, drag race all need different types of tire sizes. An autocross car couldn't use a drag slick and a drag car couldn't use a low sidewall, 17" rim, type of tire.

Good info, thanks Stephen.

I currently have 27.4 with 3.42, so 28" shouldn't be to different.
