Best Control Arms
Best Control Arms
I am going to replace my stock LCA's. What are the best brands? BMR, Hotchkis, Jegster, Lakewood, Random Technology, Spohn, Slot Car Racing. What is everyone's preference? I might end up making my own since I have access to the equipment. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Go with the BMR boxed control arms. For the street, they have a dual poly/rubber bushing setup that keeps noise down and still allows tight handling. They are around$139 for a pair.
They also look good....very well finished and constructed.

I had the Lakewood arms before but over the past winter I swapped over to set of South Side Machine arms. I like these a bunch better than the Lakewoods.
The best I'd say would prolly be Global Wests.
1982-2001 Double Bearing both sides, Superior over any other rear control arm .
(Best for all applications)
Part# TBC-1 -- -- Price $319.95
Expensive as hell.

They're all pretty much the same, but if you want the 'cream of the crop', I suggest Metco's. They're a little pricy, but they're beefy too. A bunch of guys i know have them on their 4thgens. They make a CNC'd billet set that are HUUUUGE!! On another note, I personally like the lakewoods.

I personally would highly recomend anyone to buy adjustible LCA's.
The reason is-- you can shorten or lengthen them for many different reasons. Here are some examples why:
1)Car was in an accident- alignment can be fine tuned.
2)You install relocation brackets and the brackets are not pefect geometry left to right sides- again you can correct alignment.
3)You lower a car with relocation brackets and rotate the pinion bck up alittle to recorrect the angle-- your tires will move backwards up to an 1 1/2" in the wheel wells--- Adjustable LCA's can be shortened to move the wheels back forward and also pushing the front driveshft yoke back into the trans tailshaft with adequete depth.

There are three good reasons of the top of my head.
I run Spohn's adjustable combo arms (One rod end/ one poly end)
