Spohn Front End Rebuild Kit Now Available

We have a bunch of new "kits" in the works here, I just added one to the website. Our complete front end rebuild kit is composed exclusively of Moog components. You can check it out here:

Are moog parts better than polygraphite, like from PST? If so i'll go with moog, otherwise the PST stuff is only like $160 and i'll use it.

moog parts are, parts. Idler arms, centerlinks.. etc.

PST makes bushings. You are probabally going to need the bushings anyway. Steve has links to prothane bushings on his site, but I think the PST stuff will suffice.

I ordered my front end re-build kit from PSC, it included everything, all Moog parts & ES poly bushings - total $325.00. Why does Steve's kit cost so much more than the PSC kit? Steve's kit does not look like the bushings are included either.

Yeah bushings aren't included but daym guys its only $20 more than the other guys. Makes sense for people already ordering parts from Steve that live in far away places with insane shipping charges (me). Save on shipping. Keep up the good work Steve!!

EDIT: Quick question Steve, do you guys plan to carry a bumpsteer kit as well? Or maybe a combination front end rebuild with the bumpsteer kit? Just wondering. Thanks!!

Yes I agree, this would be a hot ticket combination. Most performance F-bodies have been lowered. A 1-stop kit for them would be great instead of having to piece things together all or the states.

I just priced everything out on Summit and it would be $342.60 for everything from Summit, not $322.21. So, I just updated the website to match Summit's price

Yes, there are cheaper kits, and the reason they are cheaper is one of two things:

1. They don't include EVERYTHING I have listed in our kit. Check their parts list and compare.

2. They are not using Moog parts but rather "Made In Taiwan" components.

Just like anything else, you get what you pay for. You can do it right the first time, or you can save a couple bucks now and do it all over again a year from now. I prefer to supply the first option.

Thanks,
Steve

The PST kit comes with:
2 Upper Ball Joints
2 Lower Ball Joints
2 Outer Tie Rod Ends
4 POLYGRAPHITE® Upper Inner Control Arm Bushings
2 or 4 POLYGRAPHITE® Lower Inner Control Arm Bushings
2 POLYGRAPHITE® Strut Rod Bushings (if required)
2 POLYGRAPHITE® Stabilizer Links
2 POLYGRAPHITE® Sway Bar Bushings
Control Arm Bumpers (for most models)
http://www.p-s-t.com/images/gmply.gif
$159 (plus shipping)
I only want this kit b/c I heard polygraphite is the best type. But if the moog is better then i'll buy the kit Steve offers. I just want the best, price doesn't matter, you get what you pay for. Not tryin to put anybody down or anything, just askin questions. I'll buy all the rest of my sus stuff from Steve like I have been doing.

I opted for the PSC kit because it had everything included and features Federal Mogul chassis parts, ES Graphite Impregnated Polyurethane Bushing
The Kit includes the following:
Upper & Lower Ball Joints
Inner & Outer Tie Rod Ends
Idler Arm
Graphite Impregnated Polyurethane Bushings
Upper & Lower Control Arm Bushings
Sway Bar Bushing Kit with Brackets
End Link Bushings with Hardware
Polyurethane Tie Rod Boots
Polyurethane Ball Joint Boots
Strut Rod Bushings (Where Applicable)
Some Kits Include Control Arm Bumpers
*All Black Bushings Are Graphite Impregnated Polyurethane
$279.95 (price went up since I bought mine, I paid $259.95)
I also bought the centerlink from them for an additional $65.00
I paid $324.95 total for my front end rebuild kit

Steve's kit is $342.60 but does not include the bushings so add roughly another $60 for all the bushings that you will need.

The PST kit does not include...

idler arm
centerlink
inner tie rod ends

Also, third gens do not have upper ball joints. They are a single a-arm/strut setup with one ball joint for the a-arm.

These items are costly items. The idler arm and centerlink are in the $60 range each. Tie rod ends (inner or outer) are somewhere around 20-50. Bushings on the other hand are usually under 20 bucks a pair. (Though you need a lot more then 2 pair)

Basically the PST kit gets you a lot of low cost bushings that Spohn's front end kit doesn't give you, and Spohn's kit gets you several quality high cost items that the PST kit doesn't include.

Very nice kit with a very nice price Steve. Still can't go with it though. I'm going with Hotchkis adjusting sleeves and Baer's bump steer setup so it wouldn't do me any good.

I just have a question in the way of warranty issues. I know you stand behind your parts %100 and you have a very good reason to given your reputation, but will these Moog components carry a "lifetime warranty" like when you would buy them from a local parts house? Just curious.

All Moog documentation will be included. They are Moog parts, so whatever Moog's warranty is, that's what you get.

Also, as mentioned, this kit includes many things the others don't include. The bushings are cheap, and links to all the bushings you need are on the kit's product page. I did not include them because alot of people already have poly bushings. This way people can choose what bushings they need, if any.

We are also working on our own set of adjusters

Steve

Justin, you're not the first person I hear to say that. I've been wondering why you can't use them together, but I'm sure there's a good reason. The Baer bumpsteer kit (or Spohn's adjusters if they are out) is a definite thing. The Hotchkis adjusting sleeves are not really necessary. I'm just trying to get the tightest handling car that I can. There's also another company that makes some that a lot of vette owners use and have referred me to I just can't remember the name right now.

The baer kit replaces both the outer tie rod and the adj sleeve.

www.VetteBrakes.com makes the adjusters for $35, p/n 42114

What exactly do these parts do? I noticed that on PST's site these parts together are $155. Upper ball joints for the kit are optional if needed. And for sway bars, i'm buying new one's from Steve after the front end rebuild. As well as SFC's and STB.
