front end sits too high

just installed a front end rebuild kit on a 1985 z28. new ball joints, bushings, tie rods and sway bar links. it still has the stock springs and struts. anyway, after it all got put back together the car sits about 1 1/2 inches too high and it is messing up the camber (i think). does any one have any ideas on why this may be or is there an adjustment for it???

Make sure the car is sitting on the ground in its normal manner (i.e. weight being carried by the wheels), and loosen the control arm bushing bolts and re-tighten them while it's in that position.

Nothing in your list should change the ride height measurably. Maybe 1/16", tops, if your old ball joints were literally ready to fall apart, that's about it.

You probably have one of two things wrong:

1- You don't have the springs indexed correctly in the A-arm. They must be installed in the correct position.

2- The springs aren't fully inserted in the "bucket" in the top of the K member.

I'd check these 2 things first.

For indexing pics, look at my rebuild here:

Mission accomplished! The springs were in exactly opposite the index marks, so, spun 'em around and everything looks great. Thanks for your help and the pics were awesome.
