V6 vs. V8 suspension question
V6 vs. V8 suspension question
Hi there, since I'm pretty new here and to F-bodies altogether, forgive me if there is already a thread about this somewhere.
What are the differences between a 3rd gen V6 suspension and a 3rd gen V8 suspension (different sway bar thickness, etc)?
The reason I'm asking this, is because I am looking to buy my first F-body, one of them being a 305/auto transplanted into a V6/manual car. I don't know how the thing handles originaly, let alone with a V8.
So after never have driven a V6 car, how do they handle compared to a V8 car..If any difference at all?
Thanks,

The stock (V6) spings and sway bars are smaller/tolarence is less.
I've upgrade my suspension will all V8 suspension parts. I can hang the corners with the V8's.

The rear springs are roughly all the same except for IROC and WS6 suspension. They have a higher spring rate for handling. It also makes a stiffer ride.
Front spring rates vary depending on the engine and options in the car. They're all based on spring rate. I use junkyard V6 springs in the front of my car and it sits fine. Of course the front of my car is a lot lighter than stock so it doesn't need a heavy spring rate coil spring to hold it up.
