How do I know if it's WS6?

I have a 88 TA 305 TPI. It says "Performance Suspension" just below the map pocket on the passenger dash. I want to know how I know if I have WS6 suspension on my car. Does the RPO code have to be "WS6"? or can it be another code? Does anyone know?

There should be WS6 on your SPID. More than likely you have it.

yes, there should be an RPO code of WS6, but if it has the 'Performance Suspension' badge on the dash, it most likely is.

So it may be WS6 even if it doesn't have an RPO code of WS6? Were there other performance suspension options available? What is SPID?

Oftentimes you cannot go by what is on code sticker, since previous owners may have modified components. If there were previous owners, and I'm assuming there were, the badge on the dash may not even be correct! Or, the car may have come from the factory with WS6, but may have been changed by a previous owner. I have an '89 RS that has IROC springs, swaybars, wonderbar in it, but the code sticker will not mention this since I put it in myself. Also, the console may have been changed, which would give you a code sticker that does not belong to the car (check VIN on both car and sticker). The possibilities for error are endless... Good luck.

It's 100% original, the console sticker and VIN match, everything is original, i bought it off a female who owned it since new. She hadnt done anything to it like that.

you could measure the front sway bar.

if it is 36mm, then you have a WS6

Then I stand corrected! Follow Dewey's advice, WS6's were the only ones to come w/ a 36mm front bar. IROC's had a 34mm bar.
