Clunks into gear ???

Hi....when I put my car into Drive,it clunks, like I the diff is twisting too much, especially if it's still idling high when cold,it also has the same sensation when it shifts, especially into 2nd gear.

I just had the trans overhauled, and hoped it would go away when I had that done, but it didn't.

How do I check to see what is causing this??
Thanks !!!

How do I check it,I would hope the guy that just o'h'd trans would have seen that. And come to think of it I replaced trans mount about 6-8 months ago.And it didn't change anything then.

Check your torque arm bushing for excessive play and movement too.
