Eibach sportline or prokit?
I've read on this board that sportline springs may be a bit harsh for a street car.Whats the lowering height of each?how do they fare over speedhumps?(very important in this country).Do prokit springa match well with Koni yellows or Bilsteins.Ta muchly

The pro-kit lowers your car 1-2 inches while the sport lines lower1 3/4-2 1/4. Most people I have talked to said the sport lines suck as far as handling compared to the pro kit. I have the pro-kit with Koni reds and the ride is very firm. It handles great.

Unless you really want to scrape the car all the time, go with the Pro-Kit.
Here's mine with the Pro-Kit. I have 1 1/2" fender gap in the front, 2 1/4" in the rear.

I'm normally not a fan of big lowering jobs, but this time I am going with the Sportlines.
Too many people have complained the pro kit doesn't lower it enough, some have even said as little as 1/2" lower than their stock height before (sagged-out stock springs).
There was a discussion about this a while back and the sportline springs handle JUST as well as the pro kit, some even argued better.

I have Sportlines in mine and love them. I drove the car daily for years with those springs. Now it is not a daily driver , so I can do whatever I feel like with it, but most likely will leave it as is. The ride is very good, handles very good, etc. I have no bad things to say about the sportlines. I am running Koni struts too and Bilstien shocks in the rear.

The eibach prokit is a noticable drop. The reason most people say its not super big of a drop is they usually had dead springs and struts/shocks. And then they pop in the new springs and struts/shocks. Thats usually what I see. Dropping a car to low will cause a bad suspension and steering set up. 1" is about a good drop height to not only lower the center of gravity but to also not really affect anything. Personally I'd go with the prokit if you want performance. And the sportline if you want more looks.

RU, I love that color blue. Nice rides you have there.
MD, nice car, too. That fender gap becomes a bit obvious when you see those lowered cars. I was set that I wasn't gonna lower mine either, but I'm so glad I did...well worth it.

Weight?
Did you guys notice the eibach products to be considerably lighter than the stock springs, particularly the front? Anybody get hard data from Eibach on the spring rates of these kits? What's the wire diameter of the front springs?

what about just cutting the stock springs? i just want my cars wheel well to sit right on top of the tires pretty much, i have 245/40/18's and i NEED to lower it, I think it would look alot better if i lowered it. anyone ever done this? its cheaper!

well their def. of **** may be diffrent then mine....
by cutting the stock springs, you make them "stiffer", personaly i like stiff, i am driving a camaro , not a lincon.
you can cut stock springs, it will lower the car, and make the springs stiffer.
i would recomend buying a new set of springs instead though.

I don't know guys, look at RU-QWIK's, that's the stance I see most on 3rdGens. Looks to me like if you lower the front anymore it'll be tire rub time while the back could use a 1/4 to 1/2 coil off. Whaddaya think?

Re: Eibach sportline or prokit?
never cut the springs. they all have a lbd rate for each spring and your throwing that off and going to make your car ride like a**. ya it may make it more stiff but its going to handle like Sh*t everywhere you go!! its going to bounce and has more of a chance of bottoming out. just get the sportlines and shocks and struts that have a good rebound so it doent bounce all over. if you want to spend a lot of money on springs get Ground Control Weight Jacks that are fully adjustable and you tell them how you drive the car and what you want out of it and they will set a spring rate up for you, and if one day you want it lower than yesterday then you can lower it al the way around.

By Putting the Eibach Pro springs on, will that effect clearance for 17X9.5 wheels on the car?

Re: Eibach sportline or prokit?
The Eibach Sportlines with Koni reds set on 2 make a very aggressive suspension. They are not for everyone. Most would consider the ride harsh. It lowers the center of gravity for the best cornering capabilities. My alignment guy was just able to zero the camber. I had to cut one coil from the rears to attain a level stance.

Re: Eibach sportline or prokit?
i have sportlines with tokico 5 way adjustable shocks and struts and i love the way it rides! feels like a cadi when its on about 3 and then you go up to 5 its more stiff and you can take a 90* turn at 50mph!
