I was trying to replace my front struts yesterday. I've never done this before. But when I try to remove the upper bolt (the one you get from the engine compartment), the whole strut arm moves with it...what do I do to stop it from turning?

Also, how hard is it to replace an outer tie rod end?

 

I mangaged to get mine out with an allen wrench and box end wrench. Some however can be a pain and require the use an impact wrench to break it loose. Best of luck!!

 

use 2 wrenches, one to keep the strut from moving, and the other to remove the bolt.
