8.5'' 10 bolt
could i put a 8.5'' 10 bolt under my car out of a 70-81 camaro? hat all modifications would be necessary? yes i know i could buy a new rear end and different crap for a couple of grand but i dont have that much. i want to do this myself so i need to know what all would need to be done?

A second gen diff is a little wide. You can cut off all the leaf spring mounts from the second gen diif and weld on all the mounts for a third gen however there's no way to attach the torque arm.
By the time you're done fabricating and modifying the diff to work, it will be cheaper to just buy an aftermarket bolt-in diff.
