Upgrading stock brakes

Hey guys and gals, I have a 1991 Trans Am GTA with the rear drums. I want to upgrade the brakes, however I don't want to pay a grand or so for a set of Baers or 1LEs, though later I plan on one of them. Can't afford a second set of Baers right now... anyway, anyone know where I can get better rotors and pads for light street duty? I managed to warp the brakes it had in a single day, so I am not very impressed with what it has now.
Thanks!
Douglas

as far as the rear goes you might want to find a whole posi disk rear end off a thirdgen.. it might have a better gear ratio also..
