anyone know what this is?--> leak

i have a leak on my rear passenger brake. they are disks all around, so there is a leak comming from this one screw/bolt, when it goes in it leaks brake fluid and when it goes out it stops, so i think that its some sort of pressure valve but im not shure so im asking yall tell me what u think.

that is where the emergency cable is supposed to hook up. so the caliper is leaking brake fluid.

possibly. not sure. it will keep the stud from going inward. but may have damaged the seal.

It is really hard to tell in that picture, but it sure looks like the seal on that threaded stud that sticks out of the back of the caliper is leaking..... If the E-brake functions properly right now that would indicate that the hardware is at least attached to the caliper correctly (you would know if it wasn't as the bracket, cable, spring, etc would be flopping around back there and you would have no E-brake at all) and the seal is likely the culprit.

You can get a rebuild kit for the caliper that will include that seal and all the other ones inside the caliper through GM (most likely other vendors) but if the shaft of that stud is marred it won't seal properly and likely still leak. You can get rebuilt calipers from your local parts store but they are pretty expensive for that style caliper from what I have heard.....
