brake ignorance

ok, i want to upgrade/fix my brakes that are all 84, front disk, rear drum. here's what i was thinking: autospecialty crossdrilled rotors for front, earls stainless brakeline, and some good pads all around but i havent yet found any for the earlier style brakes, and i dont even know if good shoes exist for the drums. am i missing something? i know nothing about my brakes so i need some enlightenment. can you drill drums so they cool better(think i saw this in "how to make your car handle")? excuse me if this is all disjointed but im very tired. any help would be much appreciated. im going to bed.

Drum brakes arent completely useless. I mean in marching band, we used to use them in the drumline. when yo get about 10 people all playing the same thing on them at the same time, thats good sh*t right there.
