Tire Suggestions?
Hey guys, time for some new rubber soon for my Z28...
I'm looking for some good street performance tires for my '83, which has the alumuminum 15x7 wheels. Right now i have 215/65/15's but i want to go a bit bigger this time around, like maybe a 235. Any suggestions on what to get?
BTW, looking for white-lettered tires too, like you see on the older muscle cars.

235/60's work really well on that size wheel. They are wider and close to the same height. I've had poor luck with BFG Radial T/A's and some other off brand Hurcules and 'local' small service center tires. The best tires I've used that are near that size are the current tires I have on my 91 GMC Jimmy, 4dr, 2wd, lowered 3 inches. The are 245/60R15 Kelly Chargers(that size will rub on the front when you turn--you want the 235/60's). Excellent traction on dry, wet, snow, and they look good. They are on a set of 88 Iroc 15x7 wheels(look almost exactly like your wheels).

What tires do the rest of you guys use? (any wheel size)
I say go as wide as you can. I found out on another thread that you can run 245's or even 255's on the 15x7. So something like 245/60/15 in front and 255/60/15 in back would be sweet. For my daily driver 16's (IROC Wheels) I run Bridgestone Potenza RE730's in 245/50/zr16 front and 255/50/zr16 rear. For my 17" ROH's I run Khumo Supra ECSTA 712's in 255/45/zr17 front and 275/40/zr17 rear. When I drift I use BF Goodwrench Comp T/A's 215/60/15 in the rear because they have a kevlar belt instead of steel and when they explode they dont rip up my car.

I have a similar setup to Crazyhawaiian.....17" ROH wheels with 255/45 Kumho Supra Ecsta 712's at all four corners. Very happy with the tires, and especially happy with the price for the z-rated tires!

I run 245/45ZR16 Goodyear Eagle GSC's. A little shorter than what I wanted, but at 58 bucks a tire.... I used to run 245/60R15 BFG Radial T/A's on my 82 camaro back when the 15x7 IROC wheels were on it. The rubbed pretty bad both before and after I lowered it. If you run big and littles, your handling will change(probably need to compensate the suspension) and you can't rotate.
