WS6 squeeks!
WS6 squeeks!
Hey guys,
My WS6 rear suspension is very squeeky, and fairly loose as well. The rear end fishtails way too easily for having the supposed WS6 package. What do I need to do? Buy new shocks/springs/swaybar?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the same problem with my WS6 suspension...withanything more than a small tap on the gas I wind up sideways in the other lane...my suspension is very noisy too, could just be the age of the car but it still is really loud on anything other than a perfectly smooth road. No real answer to your question; just an agreeing gripe.
I had the same problem with my 88 GTA. Rear of the car was just uncontrollable. I made the following changes in the following order...
Spohn LCA's and panhard bar. These significantly improved the handling of the car alone. The rear felt more planted and solid. I could powerslide around U-turns without fishtailing (not that I'm promoting that sort of driving, it wreaks havok on tire wear). I could punch it from a standstill and get a very straight burnout, where as before installation it always kicked out towards the passenger side, even in very level parking lots
Next upgrade was some kyb shocks and struts. Just the GR-2s and gas-adjusts, but these provided a much better ride over the very worn stock components. These really didn't impact the general feel of the suspension, just made it more firm over rough roads.
I have poly swaybar bushings and endlinks to install in the spring, and I also intend to replace the stock WS6 springs in the spring as well. They're starting to show a bit of sag, and are a little softer then I'd like, but then, a rough ride doesn't bother me nearly as much as a soft ride.
