My lakewood lifter bars just broke. Does anyone know if they warranty these, or am I just sh*t outta luck. If there is no warranty, would welding them hold them into place. (Like if I added some extra support or somethin). And also, since it is just the bottom part that snapped off, would my car still be safe to drive with it like that.(just for a little while) MORE PICS BELOW.

The main reason why they will break is because your stock front torque-arm bushing is bad. The Lakewood traction bar setup is designed to assist the stock torque arm in planting traction. When the torque-arm bushing is worn, these will take the blunt of the force. For future reference-It is best to purchase a solid aftermarket "frame mount" style torque arm rather than using this assist type product. The stock torque arm mounts to the trans and then links to the unibody frame via 4 rubber mounts that all go bad over time.

I've seen that more than once. They are known for that problem. I've also seen them break on the other end. It looks like you still have the LCA there, so you should be OK. Fort Meade huh?

I'd try to call Lakewood and see what they say. Any reputable company should try to help you out or pro-rate you a new set.

welding would work if you know how to strike up a damn good arc. i would get a pro welder with experience with suspension to do this as this sees a hell of a lot of abuse.

My father I guess you could call a professional welder. He works for walker machinery ( caterpillar dozers) and welds on dozers and stuff all day long. So, he is pretty experienced in this. I just took off the lifter bars and that still leaves the lakewood LCA right in place of the stock ones, so I am not going to be in too much of a hurry to replace them. I launched a couple of times today and it seemed to hook just as well as it did before.
