global west- track link question???
global west- track link question???
I got a question on their torque arm"track link".
I can probably get one of these for a pretty good price($180) retails around $500. But I don't know how they hook up.
Also, does anybody like that torque arm?
The deal is it is made for a 93 up 6 speed camaro. I have a 86 automatic. I need one that hooks to the crossmember because I'm wanting to run a 350 tranny with dual exhaust.
For the price I'm willing to modify it some to make it work but I'm not sure if I will be able to.
The owner says it goes to the floor board and then hooks up to the crossmember some how. I can't really tell how it hooks up by the picture at the Global West site.

Can somebody help me with this, I only have a day or two to make the decission.
thanks

There is a bar that bolts into the recess for the the left rear sear. Something like 9 bolts. You may have to mess with the fuel filter location a bit in this area.
Forward this arm ties into the crossmember with one bolt. I mad a custom crossmember for my car for a T56 install. This moved the crossmember about 6-8 inches rearward for my particular design. I just cut that much off the front and rewelded the boxed attachment point to the cut location which had been cleaned up with a grinder.
I have also used it with a Currie 9 inch rearend and so had GW build me a special rear attachment for the torque arm portion.
So mine is non standard at both ends and has worked fine.
