Torque Steer
Okay, I know that this is a problem on front drive cars, but my 85 T/A seems to want to do something like this. When it shifts hard from first to second, or second to third, the rear likes to try and go around the car. This is when it doesn't bark the tires shifting. It always goes toward the passenger side of the car, and it has gotten me a little concerned. Is there anything that you guys can think of that would cause this, it has started to get worse, but slowly. Any help on this would be appreciated, or if this is normal, and I'm just losing my mind, tell me.

Just because you don't hear a 'bark' from the tires doesn't mean they aren't slipping. My guess is the tires are slipping during the shift(doesn't take much to feel it). Lots of things could make this worse(anything that affects traction or a power increase). Tires getting older and harder, tire/s getting low on air, colder pavement, moisture on the pavement, increase power from the engine, tranny shifter harder, etc....
