wheel-well liner rub

Has anyone had any problems with tires rubbing the top of the plastic wheel-well liner when using a 17" wheel? I recently added 17" ROH ZS wheels specially designed for the car and went for a test drive and noticed severe rub. The car has Eibach pros and bilstein shocks/struts. I also trimmed the bump stops down to take full advantage of the new suspension. Can I just remove the liners without causing damage to anything in the future?

the liner is meant mainly to keep dibris out of select places and keep water from coming into the engine bay. if none of this concerns you then yes you can remove it.

what tire size are you running and how low is it sitting from stock?

i know of people running 20's with no problems so something is wrong.

The only thing I can think of is that the springs arent in right.....I didnt line them up like most people do.....I just threw them in and called it good....could that contribute to the problem?

Mine has the stock 245-50ZR-16 and they rub a little when I back into my garage and have to turn the wheel to full lock, My car is stock height, when I had the Eibach pro kit on they rubbed alot espically with 4 people in the car.

true, my 245's rub alot as well, but i modified my prokit so it's actually 2" drop in the front....

the placement of the springs can make a noticeable difference for sure. rather than guessing i'll wait to see if someone who has experienced this lends their expertise.

if you know of people personally with identical setups and no problems that raises a flag to me though.
