Steve Spohn: Help!

I have been researching these probs people have been having with steering brace installs. I bought a Global West and had trouble with the bolt-holes lining up.

I am just curious: in the directions for your steerring brace to you say (like Global West) that the suspension MUST be loaded?

I could not get mine on and am wondering if it was because my suspension was not loaded (i.e jack stands under frame rails). What difference does it make if its loaded or not?

Evidently it must make some difference. I'll try again tomorrow with a loaded suspension and will be very perplexed if it indeed does work.

The only explanation I could think is that the front end 'settles and spreads' as the springs bear the weight of the vehicle.

I don't see any changes with loaded or unloaded. It's worth a try though if you're having trouble. If you're GW unit is only off a little, just drill the holes to the next size.
