Aftermarket brake pads
Need new pads and was shopping around. Wondering if anyone tried the Autozone pads. They have the reg autozone pads ($17), and two others that were described as 'preformance' and 'heavy duty'. ANyone ever try these or have a reasonably priced good set of pads they recommend.
WOuld also like a recommendation for drums.
Thanks, Matt

I usually go with name premium name brands, wagner, raybestos etc. I have found that cheap pads, besides squeaking and wearing poorly sometimes fade easily. right now i'm running VGX from summit that are supposedly made by brembo but i don't really like them. I bought them because they are sold as a complete kit with all bushings and o rings and look to be high quality. I might try some ferodo's or hawks next time maybe performance friction. I don't think you can go wrong with raybestos though.

autozone carries the wagener brand .....like $45 for the set.
I went to autozone and they asked if I wanted performance pads. Thinking they meant the dual piston caliper pads I said no. The ones I got are the base autozone pads and they SUCK. These are VERY soft. They work but not what I'm looking for.
You think it'd be a safe bet to go with the wageners?? They have the reg wagner and also the super heavy duty ones.

i would go with the top line Wagner pads, one of my friends swears by them, says they bed in fast and stop great. My local guy always sold Raybestos so thats my more common choice, but i think the Wagners will be good
