Spohn 36mm sway bar bushings

I just received an order for the spohn 36mm swaybar bushings and wasn't impressed with what I got. Initially when putting them on the sway bar I noticed that it didn't fit right, it was a little small. It said 1 3/8'' on it and I converted it and it's 35mm! I paid $40 for these! Then I looked and I noticed that they had dustcaps on the zerk fittings that the picture on his site didn't show, no biggy. However, going onto summit I look at Energy suspension 1 3/8'' bushing, IT LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME! Same grooves, same zerk fitting. Only difference is on summit it's red and they don't have a black one available and it's only $14!! I know that the pictures usually are only representations on summit but look at part # ENS-9-5168R! On the plus side the wonderbar looks good. Errr! I'm debating buying the energy ones just to see if there is a difference. Steve?

I think they are supposed to be slightly smaller so there is some room for break-in/wear. I measured my ES 34mm ones, and they were about a 32.5mm diameter.

They are not just universal bushings, the universal bushings do not have the thirdgen specific staggered bolt mounting pattern.

They start out as 35mm, we hone them to 36mm.

If you look closely at the enlarged picture, it appears that the bracket has been cut and a new piece welded in place on one end to convert it from the ES universal mount (straight) bolt pattern to the staggered mount pattern required for the 1983-92 F-Bodies. By modifying the bracket it will no longer fit the 1982 F-Body.

That is what looks like was done. I was wondering why there was a weld there. It still seems a little small, but I guess I can live with it. Now I have to install them this afternoon.
