best thing to do for a stock iroc
best thing to do for a stock iroc
i want better handling and i want some ideas for some stuff---i would like DIY projects and all but wants the best shocks for the money( heaRD KYB) and what about new sway bars--let me know asap as i enjoy doping it my self---if welding is needed that is not a problem... anyhting to improve handling and traction
what spline do i have on a 87 iroc- 10bolt drum rear--It says i am supposed to have a posi in the RPO codes but only one wheel spins---heard that 10 bolts suck so what about 9 bolts how hard is the conversion? and what is needed
thanks guys for your time:lala:

I would do the following:
1) SFC's
2) Rear LCA's
3) Panhard Bar
4) STB
Replace your stucts & shocks if necessary (I have 87 still with the orginals)
No need to replace the stock sway bars.
87 IROC with a 10-bolt has 26 spline axle shafts and the RPO for the limired slips is G-80 ( how many miles on your car??).
I would look for a 1989 9-bolt rear with the PBR rear disc's. This conversion is a direct bolt in, just requiring some minor parts. Do a search for this coversion.
I also went from 305 to a 350, check signature.

my suspension is shot totally and i do have a limited-slip but it doesn't work ---i am looking for a 9 bolt lately but i have drums on my car and hear it is a pain to switch i don't care though i want a 9 bolt---how strong are they though? thanks for the help guys
A 9-bolt BW is stronger then any 10-bolt. As I stated
look for a 1989 which have the best rear disc's & 28 slpine axles. Directt bolt in, just need the proporationing valve & parking brake cables being the only major items. Only stock ratios are 2:77(most common) 3:27(rare) and 3:45( rarest).

kyb makes a good strut and shock for irocs. and they arn't that much, also get some lower control arms along with a panhard rod.
then get sub frame connectors, then a strut tower brace,
if u have a conv, get the sub frame connectors 1st..
