Warning about Spohn Torque arm...

if your car is slammed your gonna run into some problems with the arm. I recently swapped in a T56 and used the Spohn torque arm/crossmember. I have to say that they are very high quality. And that the parts helped out alot with performance. But I guess these parts were more designed for drag racing or cars with only a slight drop. My car is dropped 3" all around and the torque arm hit the driveshaft well. After some driving the problem was solved though as it dimpled in the floor pan. If my car only had a 1-2" drop this wouldnt have been a problem. So to all you others out there its all good and I suggest this part. As for the people who are slammed I suggest that you possibly dimple that section in the floor pan before installing the arm.

Just curious, which part of the torque arm is hitting the floor pan?

Could we get some pictures of that? I plan to eventually have the same setup.

You're probably talking about the rear mounting bracket of the torque arm. You're correct, if your car is slammed, it wants to touch the floor pan in that area. What I do is crude, but it works, and that's to dent the floor pan at that area with a BFH.

AHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA....you have the same problem too. I kept hearing a clunk after the installation of the torque arm. Stupid TA mount. What I did is I got a huge metal hammer and kept hammering away the tunnel area. After I did this there was no more clunk. So jus go under your car and start banging away like Steve said. LOL!

and if you keep hearing more noises its prolly the ebrake mount hitting your TA. I removed mine. Im thinkin of relocating it and making it function.
