Snow tire update-if any one cares by now!!

For those who's thirdgen's are daily drivers, i have this update. During the first snow of the season here in NYC i was stranded at work by my otherwise wonderful Yokohama AVS tires. since then i made the uncharacteristically good decision to buy snow tires. Today NYC got a healthy 6-8 inches of snow, all i can say is WOW. What an unbelievable difference!!! I could pass just about anything on th highway with my firestone winterfire snow tires. Its like driving a regular tire on dirt. I am now totaly confident in my car's ability to get me through a bad storm. I seem to be able to out turn and accelerate most front drivers and many 4wd's. And driving is a blast with them. They are also pretty good in the dry, they ride really nice compated to the Yoks and handle acceptably. great way to spend 65 bucks on tires

Cool.. I too have run snow tires on all 4. With snow tires 3d gens do quite well in the snow.. Much better than my 2 wheel drive truck in fact. The only problem I ever had was when the snow was so deep the air dam was pushin it like a snow plow.

i don't think i'd want to try and take my car out in the snow. i got caught out in the rain once with the goodyear eagle gt's on the car currently. they're 245/60/15. they suck in the rain.

actually its a blast to have several hundred HP and good snow tires. Yes they are on all 4 wheels. I keep posting about it because i'm so surprised how good they are, i can outrun most cars at stoplights in the snow and just for kicks i told a coworker witha $52,000 yukon denali how i can whup him in the snow. i haven't tried yet, maybe next time we get afew inches

What size are the snows? For a 16" rim?? My Dunlop SP5000's absolutely suck in the snow... I can hardly get up my driveway. They are even tough in the rain. I'm sure posi doesn't help, but she really has trouble not kicking out sideways with even a little throttle in a wet cornor. Very bad when accelerating on a tight onramp onto the Thruway.
