broken caliper bleed screw
One of the bleeder screws is broken off flush with the caliper body on my 9 bolt. I have a general idea what to do, llke drill out the middle to a hole big enough to suit an easy out, but I've never had much luck with them. The only other idea is to use a drill bit which would come close to the threads and then use a tap to clean out the remaining screw material, but what if I screw it up. Anybody tackled this before? Any ideas would be great before it gets hacked up.
first thing i'd do is find out the cost of a new one and just replace it. last thing i'd do is try an easy out. take the cylinder out and try welding a nut on it and wrenching it out. if that doesn't work textron sells a repair kit for about 10 dollars. all you do is drill it and tap it for 1/8NPT and screw the repair kit in, it has a new bleeder screw in the new fitting.
