Spohn SFC's to powder coat or not to powder coat... that is the question
Subscribewell im most likely getting the spohn SFCs this summer and i was woundering if it worth the extra 45 beans. if i order it bare i will just paint it w/ some rustolum or somthing.

I'm gonna order them powder coated...
probably a much better job than I could do, then the POR-15 I do buy to cover the welds and the underside of the car I won't be able to reach after they are in will be enough..
For 45 bones it's worth getting someone else to do it.

it would be easier/cheaper to use the bare metal ones so they weld right up, and then you could coat them..
i heard from previous thread that you have to shave off the power coat in the areas were welding is needed. not sure if i heard right.

I bought and installed the powder coated Spohn SFC's myself and if I had it to do again I would opt for the bare ones. You have to wire off the powdercoat quite a bit back away from your weld points otherwise it melts and crinkles up- doesn't look pretty. I use appliance epoxy paint to cover weld areas when finished anyway.

ya i order them non-coated
b/c they were eaiser to install
no grinding or stripping
next month sometime i'm going to have my entire
under body cleaned and coated so it will look all
