Drag Race suspension question
I have a little dliemma. My car leaves the line so hard, the two bolts that hold the torque arm to the rear actually made an indent on the underside of the trans tunnel. How do I keep the car from squatting THAT bad?
The car has stock ws6 springs, 24mm rear sway bar. No front swaybar, Edelbrock lower control arms, Hotchkis panhard rod, Strange 12-bolt. Air bags in each spring set at 15 psi and a Random Technologies Torque arm set at 0º.
Car has a 406 motor with a 4.11 gear and 3000 stall.

hey - been there done that, but it was my driveshaft hitting the tunnel. Mr. Spohn solved the problem, the drive train is flexing . you'll need to move the mount to a seperate crossmember. spohn makes one and so does bmr. mine used to do it on the 1-2 and the 2-3 shift.maybe its a 400 problem!

I know where you are coming from and this is definately NOT the driveshaft hitting. I can see the top plate of the torque arm and the two bolt heads clearly imprinted on the underside of the car. Also when looking at video of the car launching, the front tires come up about 2 inches (with stock ws6 springs!) but the rear of the car is almost on the ground. Passenger side more, so i can raise the air bag pressure on that side to compensate.
Would LCA relocation brackets help this?
I run Lakewood 70/30 struts and 50/50 shocks.

i meant that in my case the driveshaft hit. your rearend is twisting from the torque and pulling the torque arm up. this is when the bolts are hitting.the bushings on the tq. arm and your mounts are stretching allowing this. the spohn torque arm mounts the tq. arm to a seperate crossmember taking it off the tailshaft. maybe you can get spohn to explain it better, but i'm telling ya it solved my problem. i had tried everything- poly tranny mount, lower control arm brackets and they helped but didn't stop it.
