1LE vs IROC
Re: 1LE vs IROC
No, they are the same. They should both be 36mm/24mm. Only difference suspension wise b/w 1LE's and IROC's is the front brakes and front spindle.

i think not, MOST Irocs came with 34/23 ws6 cars got the 36/24
and i have heard people with irocs say the do prefer the larger 1le bars, but alot of it depends on driving preference , springs, ect.

well, the answer is yes, but of course there are always those wacky early years of ws6 cars that got diffrent swaybars ect.
but GENERALY they are the same.

I will have to look into that and remeasure mine. One thing I do know is the WS6's did not get the additional brace on the front sway bar like most of the IROC's did -- it's like a strut tower brace that connects on your sway bar for compressional stress. Is there an official name of the suspension piece?

the technical term is 'Steering box brace' it is more cominly known as the wonderbar.
and yes only IROC's got that.
it is mainly there to keep the frame rail from craking under the stress of the steer box torque.

Like Ed, my IROC had the 34/24mm combo. Some Camaros, 89-92, had the hollow 36, solid 24 combo. Some Firebirds, 86-92, had it.

i upgraded my bars to 1-le spec.....very nice i must say; only a little thicker and yet it really made a difference in the turns.
definately try to find them used for cheap though as through gm it was expensive.
