Roll bars/Torque Arms

I am thinking of buying a torque arm from spohn for LT1/TH350 conversion. I don't have a crossmember on the 83 anyways so I have to have that too. What did everyone notice ET difference? or MPH?

Also, who makes a roll cage that saves the use of your backseat and is NHRA legal? Right now I only need a 4 point. Also if possible I woud like to have the side bars that swing out. Help me!

No such thing

Minimum is a 5 point (passenger door bar is optional). You need the 2 rear bars and at least the drivers door bar. The door bar can be a swing out bar but the rear bars must be in place.

This is only if the car runs 11.99 and quicker. If the car runs 12.00 and slower than you can have whatever you want as a roll bar since there's no requirement for the bar. A 12 or 13 second car can run a roll bar and an expired 5 point harness. The date code on the harness is only required if you run 11.99 and quicker. The harness is only good for 2 years from when it was dated

It's not that they retain the back seat or not. The rear bars "should" attach close to the rear shock mounts. Mine are mounted back farther. They won't really interfer with the seats but the passengers won't like them.

You also need the rear cross bar behind the front seat. This makes getting into the rear seats just about impossible.

Someone told me there is a group buy going on for 8 point cages. I'm in the same boat... want to keep the backseate in the droptop but I'm not beyond cutting them some. we'll see. I'm trying hard to lay the bar out so it can be removed (much easier in a convertible to remove as a unit!) but I don't know how this affects NHRA or IHRA acceptance yet. I hope to find out before Indy.
