Balljoints?

How many balljoints do our cars have? I know there is the one that the spindle connects to on the A-arm. Is that considered the "lower ball joint"? Is there another one? Is it different from a car with shocks as compared to struts?

Only reason I am asking is that I often hear, "Upper/Lower Balljoints". I'd just like to know if there is another one other than on the A-arm and where it's at. Thanks for the info!
