in the market for tires some advice??

allright,

well i don't really need new tires right now but i am going to buy them anyways and sell my old ones. currently i have a p255 60 r-15 bfgoodrich radial t/a on the back and p215 60r15 on the front. i would like to get the same size tire all the way around. would that make it drive better?? i am getting new hochkis springs and a traction bar put on this week. what do ya'll suggest. what type of tire??? the rims are 15 inch welds by the way here's a pic of it currently

I don't have any opinion on 15" tires since I don't have any, but that is one NICE car.

Good luck.

You are correct is assuming the same size tire will help handling. It should make the car more neutral. The 255's are probably helping straight line traction out back, compared to something smaller. I've had 2 sets of radial TA's and had bad luck with both. Very poor traction. I like the Kelly chargers I currently have on my 91 Jimmy. Much better traction than the Radial T/A's. As far as size, 235/60R15's are usually the best size for all 4 on a third-gen. Although I ran 245/60's on all 4 tires for a few years without any problems(slight rub at full lock)

Here is a pic of 245/60R15's....

I also think your car is SWEEEET.

You might want to make sure that your rear wheels are small enough to put 215's on there. They look like they might be fairly wide.

You are going to have to play with your speedometer gears to get it calibrated correctly.

I am going to get some Kuhmo Ecsta 711's. They are fairly cheap in price, have good traction, but wear quickly.......I read all that, no real experience with them.

Later,
Jesse
