roll cage question
I was looking at a 6-point cage with swing out bars. I have a t-top car that I want to stiffen up the car, and protect me from rollover. My question is, do all of the NHRA approved systems have the to support bars in the rear? I can't even find a 4-point that doesn't have them. That is where my t-tops go, and I don't have another safe way to transport them.
TIA

The rear down bars are a must. If you are going to put a cage in buy the eight point. They are not that much.

Minimum requirement is a 5 point. Just about everyone installs the passenger side door bar to make a 6 point. 4 point bars of any sort are not legal below 12.0 second. You can run a 4 point on anything slower if you want.
The 8 point roll bar just has 2 extra bars going from the sides of the main hoop under the cross bar down towards the driveshaft tunnel. Usually those bars are attached to the SFC depending on the location and style of your SFC.
The rear bars don't have to go all the way to the back like mine and a couple of other cars on here. Usually the best place is to mount them close to the top of the shock mounts.

Buy the rulebook. The roll bar/cage rules haven't changed in years. See if someone will give you their old rulebook.
A new rulebook is only $10
