Formula suspension
I just bought a '88 Formula and i noticed that the steering is not as tight as my '87 Iroc-z. It has plenty of power. All the numbers seem to be in order. When it downshifts to pass a car, it tends to go out wider than the Iroc. I know the Iroc's are a little better handling than the rest of the camaros. Is this the case with the formula's? How do they line up.

I don't really understand what you mean by "wider"?? You mean it shoots out in the lane further than the old car? Could be your steering box is loose, the tie rods or other parts are shot, or it needs an alignment. If you are running wider tires (IE 255s instead of 245s), this may cause it also due to a wider gripping area.

Goes out farther in the lane. The tires are smaller than factory. 225/50/16. will check steering componenets first. This car does set higher than my Iroc though. maybe an inch and a half or two inches. Maybe just messy springs. Don't know what has been put in there.
Yeah I notice a serious difference in handling when I switch from my winter 215/65/15 to my 245/50/16 IROC rims, my 16 set handles like a dream, when I get the 15's on its a different story.. I figure its the whole width issue more than anything else.

I always thought the formula was suppose to handle better. It is used so you never know what the previous owners do.
