how low can I go?

ok, I plan to get my baby a new suspension. first "package" should contain shocks&springs and by the way new wheels and tires!
right now I've got big baloon tires and crappy high jackers (thx to my pre-owner)
that's what I want:

eibach sportline springs
bilstein sp shocks
and 17"wheels with 235/40 in the front. I don't care for the rear because I think it will fit anyways (245/40)

but how will it fit in the front?
the sportline will lower the car 2", that's a lot. I have the feeling it will scratch, but I'm not sure. who has the same setup and could tell me what to do?

other question: the bilstein sp's are just for setups with lowering springs, they don't lower the car extra?!
if they would, I would order the proline kit (1" from them and whatever from the bilstein's)

I know that topic must be as old as the suspension board, but it's so much stuff in there!

Car: too many ...
Hey wasap Simon. Before you start doing mods, lets take a look at your car. Our cars are pretty old, so there is a good chance some stuff can be worn out. How many miles does the car have? If its over 100k you might have any of the following: sagging dead springs, bad shocks/struts, bad bushings. So starting with the springs and shocks/struts like you plan is a good idea. If I were you I would also replace all the bushings on the car with a Poly kit. The full kit is around $130 and is well worth the money when restoring your suspension. The Eibach springs are a good choice for street use because they are progressive rate (nice ride). Choosing between the Pro Kit and the Sportlines is really up to you. The sportline is actually a 1.8 in drop. Now too bad, thats what I'm running on my 91 Z at the moment and I dont have problems with speedbumps or anything. The SP shocks wont lower the car. The springs will control your ride height. Dont forget to do the struts in the front too. The 17" wheels are also a good choice as a good set of tires (or wheels and tires even better!) can be one of the best mods you can do for better handling. There are alot of different sizes and styles people have used, I sudgest doing a search and seeing what fits. Some guys run 17x9.5" wheels front and rear with 275/45/zr17 tires front and rear. This can safely be done with a drop. You can also go with narrower wheels if you want. As long as you're spending the $$ I recommend you go as wide as you can. Good luck!!

hi,

sounds good:hail:
the poly kit will be ordered too.
I've got 89k mls on it.
if all this is done ($€$) *sniff*, the next package will be a set of subframes, traction bars and all the other good stuff, the brakes, then engine then, then, then....
when I see your car (nice. very nice ride) I think you know what I mean.
