Cost for Labor Charges?

I went to a shop today to get the price to put on my suspension parts, the estimate was between 700-900$

Parts:
Strut mounts
Front Struts/Rear Shocks
Eibach Pro-kit
Ball Joints
Inner/outer Tie rods & tie rod adjusters
Front Control Arm Bushings
Alignment (but this is free i got lifetime)

Is this a good or bad price? I really didn't know what to expect, but I sure as hell didn't expect that much.. How many of hours of work does that all take approximately? Do they charge by the hour for this stuff or what? If they do and its say 100$ an hour, at 900$ thats 9 hours of work, Just doesn't seem right, but I just don't wanna get ripped off.. I'm guessing this doesn't go by hourly? Thanks

that pricing sounds like the are charging you twice for some things.

the are probably looking up the labor on struts, then adding the labor listed for springs, and so on so forth. but that is not the right way to do it, becasue to do the springs, they have to take the strut off anyway. you might ask them how they got that number, and if the figured it by looking up the listed labor for each task and adding them together.

That's what I was thinking, I mean damn, I didn't pay 900$ for my T56 swap for *** sakes.. Blah I dunno, I'll ask a few other places before I rush into it.. The parts alone cost me a small fortune to begin with.. The whole reason I went here is beacuse I have free alignments but if it turns out to be say 600$ somewhere else with an alignment, the hell with the free alignment

sounds to my like you're getting hosed. i'll bet either or both that they are charging for parts too, or quoting each parts labor seperate and then adding it all up. when you do a ball joint for example you'd have the sway bar bushings and tie rod end off anyway. so there would be only a small increse in labor to r&r the tie rod ends and sway bar bushings.

After getting the car on Jack stands, I pulled both a arms, springs, struts, and sway bar. In an hour an 1/2

Tools
two 18 MM wrenches for A arms
3/4 inch impact for struts
10 mm for brake lines removal from calibers
13 mm fro brake line removal from strut
two 15/16 wrenches to remove stut from spindle
14 mm to remove sway bar end links
Ball joint seperator / Not a pickle for for end links and ball joints
frool jack to lower a arms after unbolting struts
Chain run through spring to keep from killin myself
6 pack of Budweiser

Have not put it back yet as I am waitng on bushings

I think the bitch would be installing the a arm bushings.

Do it yourself.

When I had mine done I had pretty much the same things installed on the front inc all the buchings to poly, and I had SFCs installed at the same time. And with them having to remove the exhaust to install the SFCs mine came to about 900.
