FYI...Front Brakes CLACK when peddle pressed
I had an annoying little CLACK sound that would come from both front rotors when I would step on the pedal. After dismantling them to repack the bearings and inspect the pads, I discovered the following: Pads were 80%, and installed properly. I repacked the bearings, and put it all back together. In the Chiltons manual it shows that you need to put a small amount of grease on the calipers, where the two prongs toward the front meet the mounting bracket part they bolt up to. There is always a very small gap there, and if you wiggle the caliper, it will move ever so slightly. So when you step on the brakes, the caliper moves forward about a 16th of an inch, and CLICKS agains the mounting bracket assembly. You will be able to see the shiny wear spot when you take it apart. I installed grease in the appropriate place, and the CLICKING noise is now gone. This is just an FYI post for anyone with the same problem.

It will be back. At least mine did. I put that grease crap on last time i did my pads and two weeks later they were noisy again.

Yes, I used bearing grease, it has been about 4 weeks now and the annoying sound has not returned. Just one of those little things that is easy to overlook !!
