aftermarket or custom SFC's?

I talked to a guy at a local shop and he said that the aftermarket SFC's were kind of flimsy and that his shop could fabricate and weld on their own for $250. Does this sound credible to you guys or kinda shady? Thanks, this site is a lifesaver!!!

It's credible that he can fabricate his own, but by no means are all of the current aftermarket SFC's flimsy.

ask him what size of tubing he is using and stuff. if it isn't any thicker than the others it can't be much stronger.
