I'm ready to bolt the adapter to the spindle. Steve Spohn recommends torquing to 85 with Loctite--I have no trouble whatsoever in following Steve's advice; however, I am curious about what others have done.

Also, what about the 137 torque value where the caliper carrier to the adapter is concerned?

Not sure what you are asking, but I used those same torque numbers when I installed mine.

Are you worried its too much or not enough torque? Those values sound like whats in the manual.

Sounds like what I did.

For ALL the torque specs and more info, look at Daniel Burke's page here:

http://ws6transam.org/1LEbrake.html

This should clear it all up for ya. Specs and stuff are about halfway down the page.

I'm just curious about what people have done. Dan Burke says 89 dry or 83 with Loctite; AndyZ says 84 dry; Steve Spohn says 85 with Loctite; and Ed (if I read correctly) says 87 with Loctite. Correct me if I'm incorrect, but I don't believe the stock GM adapter to spindle bolts had the Loctite patch.

Right...as seen in my pic below, only the bolts that connect the caliper carrier to the GM adapter had the Loctite patch. I just put more on the other bolts, and I used lockwire on some of them also.

You can see what I did at the link in my sig, then just browse my photo albums.
