ok, im getting a metallic sounding noise coming from under my car. im at school right now so i cant really put it up and look at it. i was hoping just to get an idea of what it could be...

1. it only happens when theres 3 or 4 people in my car...
2. it gets louder when i hit a bump...
3. when i brake it goes away...
4. sounds like when someone hits the spokes on a wheel with a stick...it makes that claddering sound that gets faster as the wheel increaes speed.

any ideas? i think it has something to do with the suspension compressing and maybe rubbing against something.....

You nailed it with that suspension rubbing idea (almost). It's probably some cable, brakes maybe, somewhere near the driveshaft that when the car is loaded rubs against it. When you hit the brakes the line flexes away from the shaft and the noise dissappears.

OR

The same thing but near the wheels instead of the shaft.

or it could be your upper panhard bar against your exhaust on the passenger side where the pipe comes over your axle, but it stops while breaking, thats because the load gets shifted foward taking the load off of the rear suspension, look at your exhaust pipe if it has dents in it by the panhard bar ill bet thats your culprit
