Hi everyone, just wanted to show off my strut tower brace!! Wasn't sure that any stb's out there would fit the way that I wanted, so with about $40 I bought some angle iron, tubing, and end links, and started getting creative. It made a noticable difference in handling. Let me know what you think...

Looks pretty good. I'm going to build one this summer, any suggestions/tips to make it easier? I'm pretty good at fabricating, just wanting to get some ideas before I go to work on it.

That's what my dad always says, of course you learn after you mess up a couple times... Just a good thing the stuff I messed up on wasn't important/exspensive. I measure two or three times now, just to make sure...

Yeah! I got those fittings (along with the angle iron and steel tubing) from a farm supply center.. they've got all kinds of cool fabrication stuff there!!

i have a stupid question... what are the benefits to makeing/buying strut tower braces? it seems like a good idea to me, but i just want to know if its really worth it. hell ill do anything i can to strengthen my frame seein as how its so weak..... handleing would be good too if it increases that?

Looks great.
How are you guys getting the bends in the right places and stuff? Where did you get the brackets that bolt into the strut tower? What model# end-links are those?

Shoot....can you just PM me with all the stuff you bought?

well on mine, i just cut the metal, bent it, and welded it, on the strut towers i just made a bottom plate for it to bolt to out of some flat metal.

What the strut tower brace does, is when you corner the strut tower flex, when you put the brace in there they cant flex, and that means tighter steering, i noticed a huge difference when i put mine on, and meaning it cost me 20 bucks worth of metal, and i have enough to make 2 more.

i used 1x1 square tubing for the bar, i dont know what the wall thickness was, it was plenty big enough, this was steel also.
