Coilover rear suspension to adjust height?
Hey Guys,
I am nearing the completeion of a LS1 swap into my 1991 Formula. Because the LS1 engine is about 150 pounds lighter I am expecting my front end to pitch up.
I was going to solve this by lowering springs in the front. However, I am worried about the rear. If I do not switch out the factory springs it may sit too high. If I do all the springs I will be back where I started.
One solution I came up with was to replace all the springs with a 1' drop and get the rears up with coilover shocks. I did a search here and it seems most people are using coilovers for the front.
Are there any manufactures that make coilover shocks or am I better off just getting a kit? Lastly does anyone know the factory diff between front and rear height?
Any one using a kit please give me an idea of how it has changed the bahavior of the car.
Thanks for your help.
BILL

you could just get the ground-control rear ride hieght kit, it just inatalles an adjustable spring pearch in the rear.
run the lowering springs, and raise the rear to whatever stance gets your heart racing!

Anybody here doing this? What are the ride characteristics and quality of this product?

i don't have them on my car, but i think revlimit has them, maybe crazyhawaiin too.
i don't see it making any change the ride very much at all, the only change will be the height of the rear, so you center of gravity will change slightly with a hide hieght change, and of course some geometric changes in the rear suspension, but you can find the height you want, and then adjust the rear geomitry to match.
