i have a 84 firebird se , i have the huge sway bars and beefy suspention, my sway bar is the 36mm i belive this is a guess i didnt actualy mesure it it looks to be about a 1" 1/4 in standard size. I have rear drum breaks and dont have the 4 wheel disk, the car has so many of the upgrades like posi , 3.73 gears, the 700tr trany just about everything imaginable , but under the codes there wasnt one telling me what my suspenstion was? can anyone tell me what i have?

WS6 is a code. If you don't have WS6 listed with your codes, you don't have WS6.

I think WS6 for 84 would have had rear disks although there were some years that had drums on a WS6.

There's stuff in the archives which lists what each WS6 year had.

Edit: - may not be any RPO codes on an 84 - my 83 doesn't have them.

You my friend have a WS7. It is exactly the same as a WS6 but with drum brakes instead of discs which all '84 WS6's had.

Also FYI 1984 was the first year for RPO codes. Does your car have Al or Fe drums?

I have an 84 Trans Am and on the build sheet (found under the drivers seat) it said it had WY6 and noboby had ever heard of it. if you don't have your build sheet and have not really looked for it I would remove the drivers seat from the car and look on the underside of it. it is usually between the seat bun and some thin metal rods and is tricky to take it out with the seat still mounted in the car. this sheet will def tell you what you have for suspension. what ever you do don't try removing the build sheet with the seat mounted in the car, I can promise you it will come out in a million pieces.
