brakes won't adjust

Hey Guys
I have a problem with my brakes. My 86 camaro was due for front pads.I installed them, bled them,et. But now they go a little further to the floor than before. There's a hissing sound when the brake pedal is pushed (only first pump)in-louder in the inside.I even bled the back brakes hoping it would help-bled the front again-looks good. There is no loss of fluid-you just have to pump them up a few times for a good pedal each time. I I watch the master cylinder(plastic)there is a lot of activity when the pedal is pushed_each time. much air bubbling inside. I am at a loss.Any help out there???I'm due for inspection this mont and I'm sure there's a guy(gal)who would love to put a reject sticker on her when they here the hissing sound. thanks joe

sounds like you have an internal leak in the system, likely the MC is bad.

Do you mean you changed the pads, and bled the system, and THEN noticed the problem? I wonder if you introduced air somehow into the master cylinder. With a front pad change, you don't need to bleed anything. You'd only need to bleed the system if you changed a caliper or brake hose or etc.

Getting air into our master cylinders is a complete bitch; air has a million ways to get trapped in there.

I bled the brakes because the pedal was spongy and I heard the fairly loud sucking sound . I figured air must be trapped somewhere. No dice.
