Where to get rear brake hoses?

I was looking for some new brake hoses for the rear calipers on my '89 IROC (PBR calipers), but I couldn't find them. Unless they're a dealer part, I can think of only two places here who would carry them: AutoZone and O'Reilly auto parts. I checked both O'Reilly and AutoZone. O'Reilly said they didn't have them. AutoZone showed that they carried them, but when they pulled the part that their database said, it wasn't the correct part (they brought out two of the hose that splits the rear brake line comming off of the master cylinder into two separate lines).

I want to get this part at either AutoZone or O'Reilly if I can (as opposed to from a GM dealer). And that's not at all because I enjoy shopping at either place (trust me, I don't), but simply because they're going to be cheaper than GM.

Can anybody give me either a GM or AutoZone/O'Reilly part number so that I can track a pair of these things down?

Oh yeah--they should be different part numbers for the left and right sides, right?

Thanks

Have you tried going to a "real", non-chain-style auto parts store? The kind of store that doesn't sell car audio or stickers or polished exhaust tips... the kind the mechanics go to? Those parts counter guys at the chain stores (Pep Boys, Autozone, etc) are all morons, and everything has to be special ordered.

You want a place that has no tile, just a concrete floor, with grease all over the place.

my local napa is a pretty good place, you may or may not have them there.

I'm not too crazy about napa's brake hoses, they look like some kind of tractor hydralic hose. But maybe they work a thousand times better than the gm stuff, i couldnt tell you. But i can say that i've had nothing but good experiences from the brake products napa sells.

Brake Hoses

I am installing '00 LS1 Brakes onto my '89 Conv IROC. I contacted Summit Racing and they gave me the number to Earls technical. I spoke with Lloyd who seemed to know exactly what was needed for this conversion. If you just need original lines in steel braid, then contact him at (310) 609-1602 and tell him what you need. There are kits available from Earls but need to be ordered through Summit.

Earl's products, P/N 28A190, $95.95, 5 piece set for front and rear.

You can sell the fronts if you don't want them.

Yeah, I did end up finding them at O'Reilly. They had to order them--and yes, they were Wagners.

I second the Earl's, I have them on my '85 and they are great, no more "hose swell" taking away from the braking.
