well guys i have a really good feeling that my combo valve is BAD. this valve is no more than 6 months and probably the source of all my woes with the brake system on my 88'(89' setup installed). when removing the front passenger caliper it comes off nice and easy. when it comes to the drivers side, man i have to pry the sob off. it's really stuck on there good. i believe the damn thing has been grabbing. when braking the drivers side locks up so..... easy. it's not funny. not much foot pressure required. the WHOLE system has been replaced + flushed + bled. all hoses are new as are the calipers(rear i rebuilt), and master is as well. i have checked the system top to bottom and the system is not leaking fluid anywhere. the rear brakes also seem to not be working again. perhaps it could be related the prop valve not metering right?

well im guessing the prop valve is not releasing ?residual? pressure from the drivers side as it should and making the caliper stick. what do u guys think? i thinking the valve is bad and should be replaced? please give some word of encouragement. thanks again.

The proportioning valve affects both front brakes identically. It has one front chamber and one rear. It cannot cause the 2 fronts to act differently.

Sounds to me like you have some other problem.

 

well i'm gonna change it out. i'm gonna put the used one i have here. i know first hand that one works great. that pos has to be the source of my trouble, i hope. i didn't have this problem until i swapped the old prop valve for this one. all lines expell the same amount of fluid on the front and on the rear the (same amount per wheel, less on the rear).

 

That's strange. I'd yell "bad hose!" but you said you replaced them. Is the caliper bad? Is it the original?

 

i've changed everything short of the hardlines. i have replaced the front calipers. hell, replaced the drivers side one 3 times. the same problem persists. so it's not the caliper. the hoses i've re-replaced them as well, just in case, still the same problem. that's why it's so strange. i blame it on the dam ncombo valve. you never know.... maybe they screwed up when they made it.
