what do you all think
ok i have a 1987 pontiac firebird WS6 and i was wondering what you guys/girls thought of this settup, what would you reccomend, i really want the car to stick the corners, and the ride i dont really care about, but prefered smooth.
this is what i thought.
SFC's weld in of corse
Spohn sway bar kit
new shocks/struts, probally KYB's
stock wonberbar
Hotchkis STB
new rims and tires with 255's all round
but i do have the hotchkis rear suspesion kit which consists of new boxed LCA's and a ajustable pan hard bar.
what else do you reccomend or would you change, this car will be mainly road driven but occasionally autoX'ed

you are off to a good start. you might need to experment with sway bars and spring combo's til you find the feel you like. with those huge sway bars, and if you have high-rates springs, it might be too tight for you liking, or comfort. but that is all personaly preference, some people woudl think agood2.8's suspension is way to stiff, but he likes it, and that is what counts, it fits his driving style and preference. where as some poeple would think mine is too soft.
i assume you are going to run the ws6 springs? since you didn't list them? if it isn't stiff enough after you drive that combo for a while, you can just trim the springs a bit, and pick up some more spring rate.
also, you might want to step into a better shock than a kyb, people really underestimate the effects that shocks/struts have. i would go to a koni, or bilstein.

That would plant her pretty nice squeekers. I agree with Dewey's assessment of the shocks but if you are budget conscious right now I have been running KYB's on mine since I got it - they work fine but I want Bilsteins eventually.

then you think i should just stick with the stock WS6 stay bars for now? i was kinda leaning towards that for a while, this is my long term plan though.
but ys i was thinking of choppin the stock springs after reading that one post on here about it. and just run them for a while
what koni's would you reccomend, or are there just a set for the 3rd gens?
i dont really want to lower it just yet but if i do was would probally go with the eibach pro kit or the hotchkis springs.

if you chop the springs it will lower it, the sway bars are a judgement call, cheezx, cust his ws6 springs, and is actulay dropping down to a smaller sway bar then the ws6 that is on there. but at the same time, i run aftermarket sway bars, and am very happy with them. but i run a softer spring than he does.

then ill probally go with stock sway bars for now and might upgrade to the spohn's later on. and probally but the eibach sportline springs then, i got them on my camaro and love them.
but is there anything else you would reccomend, like a torque arm, or rear STB?

torque arm will make a huge diffrence.
rear strut tower braces are not used with our rear suspension.

well i just read a post on soemthing of that sort where you can put in a bar where the rear seats are by the bolts for the seats, you ahve to take out the seats but it stiffens up the rear.
then ill probally go with a spohn TR

yeah i have read that, it isn't reinforcing the shock mounts, but since every part of our cars are part of the structer, it might add some strength. i haven't tried it yet though, and probably never will.
