power rack and pinion with a tubular K

if i were to install a tubular K member in my car is there a way to take a 4th gen rack and pinion and fab it to the K member, and use my factory power steering pump and hook it up just like it would be in a 4th gen. do the spindles have to be changed or would it work? has anyone done this?

People make K-members with the mount already there for the R&P; so I'd imagine it's been done a time or 2. IIRC when you order one from PA Racing you just tell them which steering system you want, both kinds are regular production items.

so the 4th gen peice will fit right in? i was only aware of a manual aftermarket rack not a power one. id like to retain my power steering but have the simplicity and weight reduction of a rack and pinion setup
