Anyone using PA racing tubular A-Arms on a daily driver?
I would like to switch to these over the heavy stockers. I do not use my car daily, but drive it alot over the summer. Since I drive around the Chicagoland area and our roads here are not the best, I need to know they can take the punishment.
Also, any idea how less the a-arms with spring perches weigh over the stock arms?
Thanks!

I don't have them. But I, too, am planning on getting them. I think that they would be as strong as the stock, bein tubular steel. That, and they have to be built to take the abuses of road racing, so..

I run PA's mild steel A arms with spring perches on mine. I don't road race or auto-x, mostly just drag racing and daily driving so I can't say how they'll hold up in those applications. Otherwise they're fine on the street...I've had no problems with them so far.
IIRC, the shipping weight on the box they came in said 18 lbs total for both arms.

i have the chromoly versions....i've only put roughly 1,500 miles on them so far but have no complaints other then i currently have too stiff of a spring for my coilovers.
i have hit some decent bumps wether it was unavoidable or at night with no problems. i think you have a better chance of bending a rim. however if your going to drive like an idiot all things will break.
unless your going coilover or just looking to blow money i wouldn't buy them. it sounds like you plan to put it through some abuse and they aren't meant for that.

I am just trying to shave weight any where I can on the car w/o gutting it. These seem like a logical choice.
If they are not meant for road racing, then I should just keep the stock ones. Seems like the PA is the only company that makes tubular A-arms for thirdgens.
I just may have to develop them for heavier duty use....

doesn't sound like your car is a road race car. there are versions out there for our cars that are road race worthy and exceptionally lightweight but prices range from 1,000-1,500 just for the arms.
i drive mine in every situation but i'm sure to watch out for things that can cause damage like severe bumps. if your careful in that manner you will be fine.

nope. most are custom fab shops that don't use websites. there are plenty out there if you look most running cars as well.
i can give you numbers to people in my own area, but certainly you should be able to find similar people near yourself if your into that style of racing.

I have one of there k-members..I am finally installing it. One of the holes were off on the a-arm and i had to grind it alittle bigger to get the bolt through. I was wondering if you use the factory(GM) torque specs on the a-arms bolts? Right now I have them just alittle snug and there seems to be pretty hard to raise and lower the a-arm by hand. I figure they would be pretty free moving. Do I have something that is wrong/ I lost PA's # anybody have it or email address?
Thanks
Thanks
i didn't have that problem thankfully. are you using the stock arms with the k member or the custom a arms as well? the arms shouldn't "flop" around, but they shouldn't be snug neither.
