how much of a difference did/do you notice?
does it matter if you get the 3point or 2point?

i have a 3 point.

it is hard to describe the diffrence, my car is much more predictable to drive at the edge.

either a 2 point or 3 point will work fine.

have another question. is there other advantages to using the adjustable panhard & LCA? the only advantage that I know of is if i used the lowering kit(which i don't plan on - i'm having a hard enough time pushing the jack under there and wondering about clearence).
Let me know, thanks for the quick responses!

adjustable LCA's aren't need, the adjustable panhard is a good mod, that way you can makes sure your rear is centered. and of course aftermarket LCA's are MUCH better than factory.

wouldn't the rear be centered with the aftermarket non-adjustable panhard?

Would not the adj LCA's be benifical in setting the correct pinion angle (for max bite?), especially if you have lowered the car any at all?

not really, the very slight amount adjusting the control arms will have on the pinion angle is not worth it, get an adjustable torque are to adjust the pinion angle.

You will notice a handling improvement with the Hotchkis STB. I have used it for the last five years and with the addition of SFC's last year my IROC is tighter, rattle and squeak free now then when it was new (original owner). It was a good investment along with the rear LCA's & Panhard Bar (all bt Spohn). My opinion, on adjustable items and locating brackets is if you don't need them don't get them. Just one less thing that need adjustments or go wrong.

Picture of Hotchkis STB on TPI.

Look at the edelbrock 3 point tower brace. Vary strong and it is a more stronger brace than the 2 point brace.

You know, I never noticed that. I 'll have to ask him. I thought it was a Hotchkis STB. But sure enough, it is not.

Does the Edelbrock brace fit around the tbi air box, too, or just the open element?

I am not sure if it fits around the stock air box. But if it doesn't who cares, go to autozone and get a 14x3 air cleaner assembly for a whopping 15 big ones and chock up another mod to the list.

Yes the Edelbrock 3-point STB fits around a stock air filter housing.

hey an idea just cam to mind.LOL

has anybody put sheet metal on top of the 3 point braceso that just the air filter comes throught and not hot air from the manifold and the exhaust manifolds. and you could put refelective heat shield tape on the bottom so it refelects the heat that goes in through the open element because dont know about you but after driving for about 20 minutes my car isnt as peppy.

If you did that you would restrict air flow to the air cleaner because the air cleaner sits flush with this type of strut tower brace. The best ways to combat heat is with a cowl hood, ceramic coatings, and a true cold air intake system.

Hotchkis signiture series STB here, it made a nice improvement in steering and cornering.

I bought one (Edelbrock for TBI/carb.) but in the rush to get it I didn't check that it wouldn't fit on cars with the A/C on the driver's side... does any one want to buy it? $120 takes it!

i think it helped my car a bit. made the rear fell a bit looser though...well until i got aftermarket panhard and lca's. i think it is a good mod although sfc's are a better one.

If I would have done ot over I would have gotten my subframes first. You can see in this picture how stiff the front end was and how well the car handled with the springs, rear supension stuff and big rubber. I actualy pushed the side of the car out a little. I think it is either twisted or just flat out bent. The passenger side is indented the same out that the driver side sticks out.

I believe hood clearance is fine with all of them.
